Day Two - Off We Go Into the Wild Blue Yonder...
We left our hotel about 11:30 this morning and headed for the port. Boarding the ship went very smoothly. They have it down to a science. Once we boarded the ship, we went directly to our room. Then we went exploring on the ship and eventually had lunch. Before the ship can leave the port they are required to hold an evacuation drill. We finally left the port about 5:15 pm.
Our room
We have a really nice room. It was not quite as big as we thought it would be, but there seems to be adequate space to store our belongings. It is on the outside of the ship and we have our own balcony. As we left many people were standing on their balconies.
The Food
Lunch was not too exciting as everyone had to eat in the same location, a buffet, and lines were long. They even ran out of some food items. It was a little disappointing. Hopefully, this would not be a prediction of what was to come. However, dinner made up for it. We have assigned seating in the dining room and are assigned to the second seating which is 7:45 pm. For anyone that knows me well, I get hungry. Not to worry, there is always food available somewhere on the ship. We can always get a snack some where. We could even have a pre dinner dinner if we wanted to do so. This is a glutton's paradise. Surprisingly, there are not a lot of obese people on this ship. Back to dinner it was fabulous. Ron and I both chose the prime rib. We both agree it was the best prime rib that we ever had. The other item that seems to flow quite freely and even cheaper than home is alcoholic beverages.
The Entertainment
After dinner there was a show. The ship has it's own troupe of singers and dancers. They performed a number of song and dance routines with songs familiar to the Baby Boomer crowd aka old people. Then they had some game shows with audience participation. It was very entertaining.

We were exhausted by the end of the day.

Note: I am having trouble uploading pictures. Also, they charge by the minute for Internet usage. So, I may not be able to odo as much as I want to do with this blog.

  1. Download the app. Write the posts and then upload them all at one time. Too bad about the pictures :(
